PROVERBS 18
(Proverbs for You: Continued)

  I.   “SELF-WILLED” SIGNS.
       A. Group One:
            Verse 1:  He wilfully separates himself.
            Verse 2:  Full understanding versus own understanding.
            Verse 3:  Low view of others rebounds in his face.
       B. Group Two:
            Verse 6:  He causes strife, and deserves punishment.
            Verse 7:  He is the source of his troubles!
            Verse 8:  His words are his downfall.
       C. Group Three:
            Verse 12:  His humility is false; his pride is real.
            Verse 13:  He does NOT want to hear—he wants to TALK!
            Verse 14:  He does not have strength of spirit.
            Verse 15:  Opposite of verse 13.
            Verse 16:  He has false methods of gaining attention.
            Verse 17:  But will he “permit” the examination?
       D. The key (Verse 21):  SOWING AND REAPING AGAIN.

  II. “SELF-WILLED” SOLUTIONS.
            Verse 4:  Get help—and get wisdom.
            Verse 10:  You need God—run to Him.
            Verse 19:  Beware beforehand—you are locking yourself out.
            Verse 20:  Good speech: Biblically defined.
            Verse 24:  Both are needed often.

  III. PEOPLE RULES (Let’s Get Along by Doing Right).
            Verse 5:  No respect of persons.
            Verse 9:  Who are your next of kin?
            Verse 11:  SO HE THINKS!
            Verse 18:  Easy solutions to most problems do exist.
            Verse 22:  Double blessings through good women.
            Verse 23:  Clear opposites when wisdom is the standard.
