PROVERBS 3:
Wisdom Speaks About Me, God, and Others

BLESSINGS THAT TRUE WISDOM BRINGS (Proverbs 3:1-20)

  1. Specific blessings in six ways (areas; 3:1-12).
      a. Life and peace (3:1,2).
      b. Favor and esteem (3:3,4).
      c. Direction (3:5,6).
      d. Health and strength (3:7,8).
      e. Filled and overflowing (3:9,10).
      f. Correction and delight (3:11,12).

  2. A summary of the blessedness of true wisdom (3:13-18).
      Some great words describe this condition:  Happy, better, gain, 
      precious, cannot compare, honor, pleasantness, peace, tree of life,
      happy.

  3. The foundation of this truth:  THE NATURE OF GOD (3:19,20).

  DIVINE CARE FOR THOSE WHO HAVE TRUE WISDOM 
  (Proverbs 3:21-26).

  1. The father’s plea (3:21).

  2. The completeness of the care (3:22-25):  Your soul, neck, walk, lying
      down,  sleep, fear, desolation.

  3. The solid ground of this care:  JEHOVAH (3:26).

  ADVICE FOR DEALING WITH NEIGHBORS 
  (Proverbs 3:27-35).

  1. Love your neighbor as yourself (3:27-30).
      a. The principle (3:27).
      b. Three applications (3:28-30).
          1) When he needs (3:28).
          2) When he is near (3:29).
          3) When he hasn’t done anything wrong (3:30).

  2. God, His enemy, and me (3:31-35).
      a. The oppressor (3:31).
      b. The perverse (3:32).
      c. The wicked (3:33).
      d. The scornful (3:34).
      e. The fools (3:35).
