PREFACE The Lessons in this book have been prepared by faithful men at the request of the eldership of the church of Christ at Duluth. The events connected with terrorism in the world that have made "9-11" a part of our language-possibly forever-have exposed the fact that religion can be wrong. But the only way we can call something wrong is by appealing to a standard. Thus, we are presenting information in this book that is compared to the Bible. We believe that the Bible is the only standard that can measure up to being totally reliable for every person and every situation (2 Timothy 3:16,17). And this includes the judgment day (John 12:44-50).
The world is full of religions--thousands of them! And "Christianity" is full of denominations--thousands of them! This book is written to challenge you to sort through the claims of these religions in the light of the only perfect book--the Bible.
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God. He died, was buried, and resurrected on the third day as confirmation of the truth (Romans 1:3,4; I Corinthians 15:1-4). He established one church (and no denominations) on the first Pentecost (which was a Sunday) after His ascension to the Father (Daniel 7:13,14; Matthew 16:18,19; Acts 2:1-47).
We invite you to read this book, get a set of the cassette tapes, and search the scriptures to see if these things are so (Acts 17:11).
